Mary Ephraim Akpan is an epidemiologist, biostatistics specialist, and health systems researcher committed to advancing infection prevention, patient safety, and resilient healthcare systems. She holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Boston University School of Public Health, specializing in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, and earned her bachelor's degree with honors from the American University of Nigeria.
Her research has supported Ministries of Health in Kenya, Rwanda, and Nigeria, focusing on health financing, essential medicines procurement, and supply chain resilience. Mary has also contributed to public health policy, communicable disease awareness, and research on chronic disease management and health equity. With expertise in epidemiologic surveillance, monitoring and evaluation, and statistical analysis using R, SAS, and REDCap, she is dedicated to strengthening equitable and sustainable health systems worldwide.
